look out for googly eyes at this year’s cobbled classics
Googly Eyes Go Pro
Googly eyes can save you up to 8 watts, if you know where to look. Correctly placing oogling onlookers keeps air attached for longer, providing slipstream benefits similar to time trial helmets.
The googlies function like other stick-outy bits seen on aerodynamic clothing and frames. Inspired by nature, eyes guide airflow to the fastest path across the bike. Which, contrary to popular belief, is NOT a straight line.
Scientists, physicists, and anthropologists collaborated to mimic the flow of some of the fastest streams they could find within a short walk from home. By replacing each pupil with sensors they quickly determined that air was indeed flowing over and around the googly eyes.

Surprising Bonus Feature
Googling? That’s already a thing, we can’t call it that.
An unexpected benefit found testing on cobbles is the extreme jostling of eyes while racing across bumpy terrain. A phenomenon researchers unanimously named “googling”.
Most neighboring riders tend to cramp from laughing, spit out their hydration, or a combination of both.
Googly eyes are currently available pretty much everywhere. With special race-edition UC-eyes expected later this year.
